On November 30, 2019 Third China Advanced Materials Industry Innovation and Development Forum was held in Shangyu, Zhejiang Province. The forum is jointly sponsored by the CAS Holdings, the Petroleum and Chemical Federation, the Zhejiang Provincial Bureau of Economy and Information Technology and the Shaoxing Municipal Government, and jointly sponsored by the Advanced Materials Technology Innovation and Industrialization Alliance of Chinese Academy of Sciences, the New Chemical Materials Professional Committee of the Petroleum and Chemical Federation, the Shangyu District Government and the Shaoxing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology. Zheng Yueming, Chairman of the Advanced Materials Alliance of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chairman of Levima Advanced Materials, attended the forum and signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the China Petroleum and Chemical Federation on behalf of the Alliance. The two sides will jointly promote industry-university-research cooperation in the field of advanced materials.

Experts attending the forum said that new chemical materials have become the fastest growing field in China’s chemical industry during the 13th Five-Year Plan. The next step should focus on crucial materials in hot areas such as 5G new materials, new energy materials, high-performance fibers, bio-based and degradable materials, etc. to make up the shortage and promote the transformation of China’s chemical industry from a raw material type to a material type. In the process of technological innovation and industrialization of new materials, we must attach importance to the main role of enterprises and strengthen cooperation in the field of production, teaching and research.

The forum held sessions around 5G materials, high-performance fibers, bio-based and degradable materials, and new energy materials, and organized a docking meeting for the achievements of the Advanced Materials Alliance of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. During the forum, Deng Maicun and Sheng Yuechun jointly unveiled the Advanced Materials Industry Technology Innovation Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Sciences; CAS Advanced Materials (Zhejiang) Company has signed contracts with Dalian Chemical Institute, Process Engineering Institute, Chengdu Organic, CAS Test, CAS Synthetic Oil, CAS Applied Chemcial, Shanghai Jiesheng and Zhuangxin Wan Feng, and will carry out technical development and pilot project cooperation with all parties respectively. The foundation stone laying ceremony was held at Shangyu Pilot Base of CAS Advanced Materials Company. Deng Maicun, Suo Jishuan and Zheng Yueming and their party investigated and studied the Scientific Innovation Coordination Center of Shangyu Economic Development Zone, the Advanced Materials Industry Innovation Base and the CAS Advanced Materials Industry Technology Innovation Research Institute. Relevant heads of CAS Holdings, CAS Advanced Materials, CAS Capital, member units of Advanced Materials Alliance of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and over 600 guests from advanced materials industry and investment industry attended the ceremony.
